Their active nature and occasional jumping tendencies necessitate aquariums equipped with a secure lid, hood, or canopy—or a reduced water level—to prevent accidental escapes.
These fish are remarkably plant-friendly, coexisting harmoniously with aquatic vegetation without causing any harm or consumption. Endlers are also well-suited for peaceful community tanks, provided their tankmates are non-aggressive and do not nip at their distinctive, flowing tails.
While adult dwarf shrimp make suitable companions, caution is advised, as Endlers may prey on shrimp fry. Larger, gentle invertebrates also pair well with these lively fish.
